It all started back in the late 70's with an idea to make a better bass speaker. Larry Hartke had seen bass rigs getting bigger and louder, but they really weren't getting better. He realized that a bass speaker had to be fast - really fast - to keep up with a bass player's fingers, and deliver perfect tone and articulation in the upper octaves. Larry went in a new direction, designing a revolutionary 10' bass speaker with a rigid aluminum cone that was wicked fast and had exceptional tone. After countless revisions and endless testing, Larry finally found the sound he was looking for; loading eight of his silver bullets into a multi-chambered, front loaded touring cabinet. He took it to the pros to check out, they loved it, and the Hartke - Transient Attack was born!
