Not only do we not charge for shipping to anywhere in the continental United States, but we also ensure you get your products much faster than everyone else — in many cases, even faster than that one “Prime” retailer everyone uses.

What makes AMS shipping so fast? We’re the only music equipment provider with FOUR state-of-the-art warehouses! Our warehouses are strategically placed all over the U.S. to ensure we can deliver quickly to as many people as possible. Most customers get their orders in two days or less!

We Pack Orders Until the Truck Leaves

We know it’s exciting to receive new gear, and we want to make sure your order gets on the truck and to your house as quickly as possible. Not only do we have four warehouses across the country, but AMS also has some of the latest order cutoff times in the industry:

  • New Jersey: 5:00PM EST
  • Ohio: 5:00pm EST
  • Mississippi: 3:30pm CST
  • Nevada: 3:00pm PST

If you place your order before any of these cutoff times, your gear will be out the door THAT DAY and on its way to you faster than anyone else.

We don’t sit around and say “good enough” when lunch hits. We pack the trucks until they literally leave the loading dock. That’s just another reason to choose American Musical Supply for all your gear needs.

When you place an order with AMS, we’ll estimate your item’s arrival date based on your zip code. You’ll see the “Free 2-day shipping” icon on many of our products. Of course, we rely on carriers to keep up that timeline, and it doesn’t always work out depending on their shipment volume and other delays. Keep in mind that while we try our best, delivery projections you see on the website might not always be accurate.

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Territories

Crossing the seas makes shipping a bit more difficult. But our goal is to empower all musicians, even if they live in places that require planes and boats to reach. If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or any U.S. Territories, we would love to send you the gear you need to create.

However, because we have to send your gear by Air Express Delivery, shipping times do tend to vary, and there will be some additional shipping charges applied to your order. We are also limited with what we can ship to Puerto Rico or other U.S. Territories, so be sure to check the list of products we cannot ship to Puerto Rico. Products that contain “hazardous material” like rechargeable batteries must be shipped via ground delivery.

Does AMS offer international shipping?

AMS is excited to offer shipping to all our musician friends in Canada! You can now enjoy the ease of online shopping and AMS’s very fast shipping for thousands of musical instruments and accessories.

However, because shipping from our warehouses is international, we aren’t able to offer free shipping to Canada. There will be shipping charges and customs fees (like taxes and duties) applied to shipments heading north to Canada. We also can't ship certain products to Canada, so be sure to look for the "Ships to Canada" tag under certain products. Check the list of products we cannot ship to Canada or contact AMS Customer Service for more details.

Customs fees are not included in shipping charges. They’re applied locally, so be sure to check with your local customs office for more information on the fees required for your area. If you don’t pay customs fees, your order will be returned to the warehouse and subject to a restocking fee.

Unfortunately, we are not able to ship to any countries outside of the United States, its territories, or Canada at this time.

PO, APO, & FPO addresses

You might come across certain items that have an asterisk* next to them at checkout. These items cannot be shipped to PO, APO, or FPO addresses. Items shipped to these addresses have to be shipped via Priority Mail using our standard shipping and handling charges (which you’ll see at checkout) — which also means we can’t offer our 2-day express and 1-day delivery options.

Do I need to sign for packages?

Sometimes. Requiring a signature largely depends on the cost of the product, among other factors. We want to make sure your gear gets to you and you only! You can always call customer service to find out for sure if your package will require a signature.

What if I refuse delivery?

If you’re not around to sign for a package that requires a signature, or if you refuse delivery, you’ll be responsible for all shipping charges to send it back to our warehouse. And if you used a purchase order to pay for your products, the purchase order will be suspended until the balance is paid.

Can I get free two-day shipping for oversized packages?

Oversized packages are, as the name might suggest, quite large. They can only be shipped via Ground Delivery and not our usual expedited shipping methods. In other words, we can’t ship oversized packages in two days. It might take a bit longer.
