RANE DJ mixers
Turntables might be fun, but every DJ knows the mixer is really the heart of any setup. And RANE mixers are ready to fade, tap, and tweak your mixes to perfection.
The RANE SEVENTY TWO MKII is the latest and greatest mixer from the DJ masters. With three MAG FOUR faders, external and internal crossfader adjustment controls, dual DVS inputs, 4.3-inch touchscreen, and amazing sync controls, all the tools you need to create bumping beats are right at your fingertips.
However, all those features come at a price. The RANE SEVENTY offers many of the same amazing features as the SEVENTY TWO, but at a slightly lower price point for the budget-conscious DJ.
History of the RANE Corporation
Back in 1981, two middle-managers at Phase Linear Corporation (a high-end consumer electronics company) decided they were going to team up and use their decades of experience in the audio industry to create the RANE Corporation.
Initially, RANE made live sound products aimed at small bands. The goal was to provide equipment with all the features and build quality of the high-end brands but at a lower price point.
This new price point and level of quality really appealed to musicians. RANE products exploded in popularity over the next few years. In the first two years of production, RANE designed and shipped an incredible eight new products!
RANE first entered the DJ market when a sound designer named Richard Long came to them to redesign his X3000 crossover to use in his clubs. This new product became the X3000A and was used exclusively by Long in his clubs around the world.
At the same time, RANE also co-developed the Q5000 DJ equalizer, the success of which encouraged RANE to spend more time researching the developing DJ market. Their first mixer, the MP24, was released soon after, which quickly became the industry standard when it came to DJ mixers.
By the end of the 1990s, DJing was really taking off. It wasn’t just simple fades in the clubs anymore. DJs were starting to scratch, mix, and battle with incredible musicianship. The DJ turntable was no longer a music player; it was a music creator!
RANE designers were attending the Audio Engineering Society (AES) convention in 1998 and were introduced to some of the most talented turntablists taking over the music scene. Knowing the quality of RANE products, the artists invited the RANE engineers to join them for a private event where they taught them the ins and outs of modern DJing and even asked them to build the ultimate DJ mixer.
Working with these incredible artists, RANE developed the TTM 54 performance mixer. Every knob, fader, and control was specifically placed to work for the needs of DJs. They also developed their very first hip-hop battle mixer, which established RANE as a major leader in the DJ scene.
DJ equipment has come a long way since the ‘80s, but RANE has been at the forefront of every movement. They understand the DJ mixer is no longer about simply fading between songs; it’s an instrument for self-expression. RANE continues to make some of the most feature-filled and innovative controllers and mixers on the market today.
When you’re ready to mix, scratch, and fade your way to the top, you can’t go wrong with a RANE DJ controller and mixer on your table.
