Just the right amount of vintage magic makes the 1953 the choice for those seeking a more traditional instrument. The alder body is topped with a flamed maple top, with a traditional dual single-coil pickup configuration. The electronics mod features the Michael Kelly Quad Mod, and as the name implies, there are four great tonal options instead of the expected three. The 1953 has a 4-way pickup switch and in the fourth position you have both pickups in series. It is like having a nice fat humbucker when these two pickups work together. The 1953 also has some nice and hot single-coil Rockfield's that were designed specifically for this instrument.
