This expansion of Michael Kelly’s legacy Hex lineup is built with the modern player in mind. A contoured slim body of poplar wood makes the instrument both lightweight and easy to hold. A Modern C neck makes playing comfortable, with a set of diamond inlays and side-dot markers along the fretboard to find the right notes quickly. An aggressive cutaway gives easy access to the upper frets for soloing and tapping, and a two-point tremolo system allows for smooth, clean note-bending action.
The SP Hex is wired with Michael Kelly’s Lucky 7 electronics mod, built on three SP Rockfield pickups: two single-coils at the neck and middle postions, and a humbucker at the bridge. Wired with a 5-way blade switch and equipped with a coil-split mini-toggle for the humbucker, the SP Hex is equipped with seven possible tone combinations that will fit right in with any genre or playing style.
