Martin X Series

Martin X Series Guitars

Martin's X Series, their most affordable series, utilizes a high-pressure laminate back and sides to create an inexpensive, rough-and-ready instrument for the player who seeks beauty, durability and tone while staying within a budget. The resilient HPL (high pressure laminate) bodies are made to last and Martin's Stratabond necks, constructed in laminated layers, are so strong you'd need a diamond cutter to cut them. Fingerboards are made of black Richlite. Tops are crafted from solid Sitka spruce, a sleek jet black HPL textured finish, a spruce pattern HPL textured finish, or a handsome Hawaiian koa HPL pattern textured finish.

What Makes the Martin X Series Different?

Plenty of guitars try to balance affordability and performance, but the Martin X Series does it without sacrificing the soul of what makes a Martin a Martin.

  • High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) Construction: The X Series uses durable HPL for the back and sides, delivering strength, stability, and resistance to humidity and temperature changes.
  • Solid Spruce or HPL Tops: Depending on the model, you’ll get either a solid spruce top for richer tone or a full HPL build that’s practically indestructible.
  • Martin Electronics: Most Martin X Series acoustic guitars come equipped with Fishman or Martin E-1 electronics, making them performance-ready straight out of the box.
  • Iconic Martin Feel: Even with alternative materials, these guitars stay true to Martin’s legacy — comfortable neck profiles, familiar body shapes, and that warm, balanced sound that’s instantly recognizable.

The Martin X Series doesn’t just make acoustic guitars more accessible — it makes them more adaptable.
