This updated version has more in common with the 80s-era originals than ever, including a new headstock rear "stinger" that matches the body and front headstock finish, new direct-to-body mounted Kramer USA Eruption T and Eruption R humbucker pickups that Gibson Master Luthier Jim DeCola designed, and even a new retro-style knurled volume knob. It first draws you in with its eye catching AAAA Quilt Maple Top and then keeps you fawning over its classic features like the lightweight alder body, 84 Banana headstock, and Floyd Rose 1000 series tremolo, but now the R2 locking nut is rear-mounted, just like in the 80s.
