The Xotic AH-booster is based on legacy AC-Comp pedal which was Allen's favorite. We have revived it's design with modern features such as 9-18 volt operation and improved tonal characteristics for a “tight" yet “smooth" overdriven sound.
Why do you need a voltage doubler? Higher voltage levels result in more headroom. When you boost the voltage your find your Xotic pedals will get much more dynamic, more headroom, top end and brightness, less compressed sound.
Features include improved tonal characteristics for a tighter yet smooth overdrive sound, adjustable compression, volume, treble, bass and gain controls and internal DIP switches for complete control of your sound.
Need more headroom? you got it! The Xotic “Voltage Doubler” is a step-up converter that takes 9 volts DC and boosts it to an output voltage of 15 or 18 VDC (max current draw 80mA).
