The VOX SuperBeetle Goes Micro and New Valvetronix…? | NAMM 2026

VOX makes some of the loudest, heaviest amps in the musical kingdom — and I’m not talking about tone. They weigh a ton! But not anymore because VOX is going micro for NAMM 2026 with the Micro SuperBeetle. It’s so cute I couldn’t NOT write about it…

But that’s not all VOX was up to since last year. They also reentered the modeling game with a brand-new iteration of their Valvetronix hybrid amps. And if you’re not into modeling, the all hand-wired 2x12 speaker cabinet should do the trick for your valve-driven amps. Check out all the goodies we saw at the VOX booth at NAMM 2026.

VOX Hand-Wired Cabinet

Okay, before we get to the cute li’l guy, let’s talk about the big guys. Because VOX came to NAMM with a vengeance to make some noise. I’m talking about the refreshed hand-wired series.

We’ve been lucky enough to play with the VOX hand-wired series before in the studio. And they’re awesome! Now if only they had a speaker that matched the vintage look and hand-wired tone… Oh wait, they totally do!

The VOX V212HWRX is a 2x12 cabinet packed with Celestion Alnico Blue speakers, using completely vintage-accurate materials that are all (as the name might suggest) hand wired to be the perfect tonal companion to the VOX hand-wired amps. We got to hear it in action at the NAMM show when a guy wearing camo overalls walked up and started ripping country riffs on a Tele. It was sweet…

VOX Is Back in the Modeling Game

No, not that kind of modeling. Though VOX amps are pretty… I’m talking about the reincarnation of the Valvetronix series!

VOX launched the Valvetronix series back in 2001, when modelers were still fresh and new. And now, to celebrate the 25th anniversary, VOX is bringing their Valvetronix amps back with refreshed versions of the VT20X and VT40X.

Both amps give you the warmth and natural compression of a 12AX7 preamp tube with the versatility of pro-level digital modeling technology. They recreate the analog circuits of some of the most coveted tube amps in history, like the Marshall JCM 800, Dual Recs, and even Fender Tweeds. Plus a bunch of VOX favorites like the AC30.

The main difference between the 2026 Valvetronix and the 2001 models is that the 12AX7 tube is set a bit further back in the signal path, giving you a bit more sponginess compared to the previous iterations. It’s like the perfect blend between warm compression of a tube amp and the limitless tonal versatility of a modeler.

Everyone Needs a Micro SuperBeetle on Their Desk

It might have come out in late 2025, but VOX brought the Micro SuperBeetle to the 2026 NAMM show, so it still counts! The tiny stack looked so cute sitting on their display shelf.

Not only is it a real-deal 3-voice guitar amp, complete with 1/4” input on the back, but it also works as a Bluetooth speaker. The head and cabinet are also fully detachable if you just want to use the speaker.

The Micro SuperBeetle is perfect for any guitarist who wants a space-saving option that still sounds and looks good.
