Bob Taylor and his band of SoCal cohorts have brought many a cool item into existence since they began production in San Diego in 1974. While constantly striving to improve aesthetics, tone, selection and redesigning architecture, Taylor has always had an eye on sustainable use of natural resources and building practices. Here is a glimpse into some of the best Taylor products for 2025.
Circa 74 Acoustic Amp
Taylor is new to the amplifier market and enters it gracefully with the Circa 74. Striking solid wood cabinetry and optional furniture style stand make this amp completely at home in the living room or on any stage.
The top-loaded controls offer a vocal channel and a guitar channel with three band EQ for each and separate reverb level. The 150-watt power amp powering a 10” full range speaker is smooth and super clean at any volume.
Bluetooth is available for streaming backing tracks, or you can plug into an 1/8” auxiliary input. For silent practice, plugging headphones into the 1/8” headphone output mutes the speaker.
On the back is a built-in direct box with ¼” line out and balanced XLR output.
For killer clean tone with a beautiful design aesthetic, Taylor hit this one out of the park.
DarkTone Series Pick Tin
Taylor makes a great line of guitar picks they call DarkTone. You can grab a cool collector tin, leather lined, with an assortment of DarkTone picks. They are made of a proprietary material that sounds really… dark.
The Collector’s Tin comes with a variety of all the different types of DarkTone picks so you can play around and find out which one is your favorite. Who knows? You might just find the missing piece for your perfect acoustic tone.
Taylor Big Baby
Let’s agree that Taylor guitars are not inexpensive, and you may have reservations about taking your main Taylor to a jam session or on a camping trip.
The Taylor Big Baby is a cool blend of travel guitar and beach workhorse. Layered back and sides with a solid spruce top makes this diminutive guitar sit up and bark! And onboard electronics make it great in a jam session or onstage. It also ships with a nice gig bag, so you’re ready to hit the road the second it shows up at your door.
Ebony Guitar Wall Hanger
Most guitar wall hangers are about as exciting as dry toast. Taylor comes out strong with this gorgeous guitar wall hanger made of ebony from their mill in Cameroon.
Bob Taylor has been instrumental in helping the world accept the fact that ebony can be figured and come in many different colors. This is a sustainable way to make sure no ebony is wasted, since many builders want only pure black ebony. Plus, it’ll make your Taylor guitar look super cool hanging on the wall!
Taylor Swift Acoustic Electric
If you’re a Taylor Swift fan, or have one on your gifting list, the Taylor Taylor Swift Acoustic (yes, two Taylors!) would be a certain hit.
The famous Baby Taylor size is small enough to tag along just about anywhere and big enough to play in tune all over the fretboard. Onboard ES-B electronics make performing and recording a breeze. Taylor Swift’s signature and graphic “Love” rosette is laser engraved in the top. It ships in a nice gig bag too! If you want to properly accessorize your guitar, get the matching strap.
P.S. If you’re not a “Swiftie” they also make a non-signature version Baby Taylor BT1-e.
Taylor Capo
A lot of thought went into Taylor’s line of guitar capos. They are sturdy and light, almost invisible when in use. The design eliminates and need for springs or awkward levers sticking out to catch your hand. The tensioner is exactly in the center of the neck, insuring balanced even pressure on the strings. They almost seem antique; they are so well made. This would make a much-appreciated addition to any player’s ditty bag.
Somos 150ce Doce Doble
New to the Taylor lineup, the Somos 150ce Doce Doble is a 12-string guitar but with the strings tuned in unison instead of octaves. Inspired by Latin/Mexican influences, the “double 12” adds Taylor’s signature playability and voicing to a more traditional instrument.
Construction details feature layered sapele back and sides with a solid, torrefied (baked) Sitka spruce top, Taylor’s ES series electronics, and master builder Andy Power’s new “C-Class” bracing. Ships with structured gig bag.

T5z Pro Armrest
The Taylor T5z Pro Armrest is kind of in its own class of guitar type. It’s a hybrid acoustic electric featuring magnetic pickups and an internal acoustic body sensor. The neck pickup is concealed while the bridge pickup is exposed.
A 5-way pickup selector switch allows the player to quickly switch from acoustic to electric tones on the fly, useful in almost any musical scenario. For high volume stage applications, they make a set of foam inserts for the “Z” shaped sound holes.
Of course, the figured tops are gorgeous and feature a beveled armrest for better ergonomic comfort. Ships with a hard case.
Leather Guitar Strap
Taylor has always taken great care to make their accessories on par with the excellence of their guitars, and this distressed leather “wings” strap is proof.
Made in America of soft leather, gently aged to blend in well with blue jeans and flannel, and embossed with the Taylor logo, this would make a great accessory for any Taylor owner.
Gold Label 714e Super Auditorium
Taylor’s “Gold Label” series represents the new renaissance of acoustic guitar that Taylor has helped usher in. Master Builder Andy Powers cooked up this dream team combination of body shape, bracing style, and design aesthetic to create the Gold Label 714e Super Auditorium.
The new “Super Auditorium” body size is slightly longer and notably wider than their famous “Grand Auditorium” style. Andy Powers calls it “classically proportioned.” The larger body, featuring a torrefied Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and the new “fanned V” bracing, give the Gold Label a settled older tone with incredible dynamics. A new, longer neck tenon joint also contributes to the instrument’s prewar tone and vibe.
Electronics are by courtesy of LR Baggs, with their sonically transparent VTC pickup system. Ships with a hard case.
